In his new role, Slaats will assume daily management of the entire group and will report directly to Gerrit van der Scheer, who will serve as Executive Chairman of the Management Board. In this position, Van der Scheer will focus on the company’s strategic direction and further growth through acquisitions.
International Expansion
In recent years, Slaats has made his mark as CEO of Mechan International, a subsidiary of ZWEQ. In that capacity, he was responsible for the successful international expansion into Canada and Italy. He led the integration of AgWest and the expansion of Canadian operations, as well as the acquisitions and integrations of Agri Verde and Busato in Italy. He also played a key role in consolidating activities in Northern Italy.
