Subsidiary Sivertsen takes over importership from AGCO

Massey Ferguson dealer Sivertsen, a subsidiary of Mechan International, has taken over the importership of the agricultural machinery brand Massey Ferguson for all of Denmark from AGCO. The transaction includes contracts with local dealers, further strengthening Mechan International’s market position in Denmark.

The existing dealer network in Denmark will remain in place and continue under the management of Sivertsen, including services, AGCO employees, and additional AGCO products and support. The same applies to the cooperation with local Massey Ferguson dealers. “By acquiring the importership for Massey Ferguson from AGCO, we are expanding Sivertsen’s dealer network,” says Ronald Slaats, CEO of Mechan International. “This solidifies our position in the Danish market one year after our entry into the country.” Lex Zandbergen, who managed this project on behalf of Mechan International, will assume the role of managing director and be ultimately responsible for leading the Massey Ferguson organization in Denmark.

Streamlining operations

This transition is an important step towards streamlining our operations and providing local support to our customers,” says Claus Nielsen, Distribution Manager at AGCO and Managing Director of AGCO Danmark A/S. “By placing the brand within a dedicated channel, we are creating an agile network that is better equipped to meet the evolving needs of Danish farmers.

AGCO Finance will continue to offer financing solutions within the new network to ensure continuity and stability, providing flexible financing options aligned with the cash flow of farmers and contractors.

The Massey Ferguson dealership Sivertsen took over the distribution of Massey Ferguson in its region in August 2024. According to Sales Manager Bjarne Obel, this transition left a very positive impression on customers, which is why the company is now taking the next step as importer. “Our very positive experience with AGCO, our collaboration with colleagues across the dealer network, and the opportunities that Massey Ferguson’s product development presents for the future all show that this has been the right decision for everyone involved.” The completion of the asset acquisition is expected by the end of 2025, subject to regulatory approval and customary closing conditions.
